UNICEF DFAM New York Headquarters: Junior Archivist Internship Opportunity
As part of the UNICEF Internship Programme, you’ll have the chance to gain direct practical experience in our work and the United Nations system. Under the guidance of experienced UNICEF staff, you’ll work hands-on to develop archival management skills and contribute to the establishment of a robust archival repository.
Responsibilities:
- Process archival records according to ISAD(G) standards.
- House archival records in folders and boxes, and manage the repository.
- Create descriptive metadata and produce finding aids for archival records.
- Prepare physical records for digitization.
- Provide access and reference services.
- Assist with other duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Enrolled in or recent graduate of a degree program related to archival studies, library & information sciences, or a related field.
- Strong academic performance and understanding of international archival standards.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of another official UN language is an asset.
- Must be at least 18 years old and have legal status in the US.
