Organizational Details
Our internships typically range from 4 to 12 weeks, with preference given to longer durations (8 to 12 weeks). Interns receive a monthly reimbursement of €450, subject to tax and social insurance regulations. While internships can be undertaken voluntarily or as part of degree requirements, it’s essential for applicants to ensure alignment with their respective university programmes.
Responsibilities and Tasks
Interns will collaborate closely with MPIL research fellows, undertaking a variety of tasks including:
- Conducting research in international law, comparative public law, and EU law.
- Assisting in academic contributions and writing legal summaries.
- Participating in the organization of workshops and conferences.
- Engaging in tailored research activities alongside mentors.
- Contributing to ongoing research projects at the Institute.
Interns are encouraged to actively participate in MPIL’s academic activities, attending research meetings and engaging in intellectual discussions. Please note that this is a full-time commitment (39.5 hours per week) aimed at fostering educational growth and professional development.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the MPIL internship programme, applicants must:
- Be enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or graduate university programme, preferably in law or related disciplines.
- Demonstrate strong research and drafting skills, ranking among the top students in their degree programme.
- Possess fluency in written and oral English (C1 Level), with proficiency in other EU languages, and German as an asset.
- Have proficient computer skills.
