As part of our collaboration with the Republic of Guinea (2024-2028), we are seeking an intern to support our Nutrition section. Starting from April 2024, the selected candidate will assist in various activities aimed at improving maternal and child nutrition outcomes in Guinea.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the finalization of a study on gender transformative approaches to nutrition in convergence communes.
- Assist in collecting and analyzing data on Mass Anthropometric Screening (MAS) and Prevention from regions across the country.
- Support the development and validation of traditional recipes using local foods for children aged 6 to 23 months.
- Monitor the implementation of nutrition activities with NGOs in specific regions.
- Provide technical support to various divisions and health districts on nutrition-related matters.
- Participate in capacity-building activities for nutrition providers and NGO staff.
- Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements:
To qualify for this internship, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Enrolled in or recently graduated from a nutrition or public health program.
- Proficiency in English, French, or Spanish, with fluency in the local language.
- Strong academic background or relevant experience.
- No immediate family members working at UNICEF.
- Fully sponsored by UNICEF Guinea office.
- Health insurance coverage required.
- Accommodation provided for national interns; transportation costs covered for international candidates.
Working Conditions:
The intern will work under the supervision of the Nutrition Specialist and may participate in field missions as needed. The internship offers flexibility, allowing for up to 2.5 days off per month. However, interns must adhere to UNICEF’s confidentiality policies at all times.
