About the Programme:

Established in 2016, UNICEF’s Migrant and Refugee Programme in Italy addresses the challenges faced by unaccompanied minors arriving primarily through the Central Mediterranean route. Our focus lies in protecting and socially integrating unaccompanied and separated children, emphasizing child protection, gender-based violence (GBV) prevention, and social inclusion.

Responsibilities:

As an intern, you will support the Gender-Based Violence in Emergency (GBViE) team, gaining valuable professional experience in a dynamic work environment. Your tasks will include:

  • Assisting in implementing GBV and gender mainstreaming strategies.
  • Keeping abreast of developments in the GBV and gender field.
  • Supporting partnership management and event coordination.
  • Providing operational support to GBViE activities.
  • Creating GBV- and gender-related social media content for dissemination.

Qualifications:

  • Enrolled in or recent graduate of a degree program related to political sciences, social sciences, anthropology, international relations, or gender studies.
  • Strong academic performance and preferably past professional experience.
  • Fluency in English and Italian.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Proactive, resourceful, and results-driven.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • A team player with innovative problem-solving abilities.
