Job Description:
The UNHCR Internship Program is a six-month international internship that offers candidates the opportunity to work on projects related to refugees, internally displaced persons, stateless people, and human rights. The program is paid and provides an allowance for food and local transport.
This is an opportunity for candidates to become part of an international humanitarian organization and work with experienced specialists.
Responsibilities:
- Work on assigned tasks and projects, mentored by experienced specialists
- Work with refugees, internally displaced persons, stateless people, and a variety of other human-rights-related projects
- Adhere to academic guidelines
- Become a member of the community-based defense group
- Develop enthusiasm and skills to advance in their careers
Eligibility criteria:
- Candidates whose immediate relatives are employees at UNHCR cannot apply
- Candidates from around the world can apply regardless of their nationalities
- Candidates must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program from a university or higher education institution
- Recent graduates are also eligible to apply, as long as graduation was completed within one year of application
- Candidates must have completed at least 2 years of their undergraduate program or an area of interest in the organization’s work
