Purpose of the Internship:
As part of the Public Information Unit’s responsibilities, the intern will play a vital role in keeping UNHCR MCO ARG staff and partner agencies informed about key news in Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Paraguay, and Uruguay. This includes monitoring media discourse, conducting media plan follow-ups, and supporting internal communication objectives.
Duties:
- Conduct daily monitoring of pertinent news articles in the region.
- Compile and maintain mailing lists for press releases and information bulletins.
- Assist in programming social media content.
- Prepare follow-up reports as necessary.
- Provide support for additional tasks as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications Required:
- Recent graduates or current students from accredited universities.
- Completion of at least two years of relevant undergraduate studies.
Desirable Qualifications and Skills:
- Ongoing or completed training in Communications, Journalism, or related fields.
- Proficiency in drafting and communication.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Conditions:
This full-time, in-person role requires availability Monday to Thursday from 9 am to 5:30 pm, and Fridays from 9 am to 2 pm. The successful candidate will be based in Buenos Aires and will receive a monthly allowance to cover living expenses.
