During the programme, they will have access to various learning interventions, including technical training, at the SARB Academy. The programme offers opportunities for a Data Science track, where graduates will work in a Data Lab environment on various use cases. By the end of the programme, graduates will have developed skills and gained practical experience to prepare them for future roles in the financial services sector.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the South African Reserve Bank Graduate Development Programme, applicants must have completed a postgraduate degree and attained an average of over 65% in their final year. They must have a strong desire to work in financial services and/or policymaking, a proven track record of academic excellence, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be South African citizens. Eligible courses include Economics, Econometrics, Research, Policy analysis, Modelling, Public finance, Accounting, Auditing, Statistics, Financial management, Information technology, Law, Portfolio or investment management, Mathematics, Quantitative analysis, Business analysis, Project management, Risk management (operational and financial risk), Treasury, Economics and international relations.
Application Procedure
To apply for the programme, internal applicants must apply through the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, while external applicants must apply online at www.resbank.co.za. Applicants are required to include a copy of their academic transcripts and identity documents with their applications. All applicants will be informed of the outcome of their applications, and shortlisted applicants will be invited to participate in assessments, interviews, and a security clearance as part of the selection process.
