Join the Wilson Center’s External Relations department this summer as a dynamic Communications and Photography Intern. As one of the world’s top-ranked think tanks, the Wilson Center offers a unique opportunity for students or recent graduates interested in event photography, communications, public policy, and international affairs. Dive into a hands-on experience encompassing event logistics, media relations, and digital communications while working alongside a passionate team dedicated to shaping today’s public policy debates.

Responsibilities:

  • Capture live event moments through photography, including speakers, panel discussions, and award ceremonies
  • Conduct portrait and group photography sessions
  • Assist with off-site event photography at locations such as embassies and Congressional offices
  • Conduct post-production tasks like photo editing and caption writing
  • Aid in event registration and drafting of website posts, press releases, and media reports
  • Assist with social media strategies and content creation, including research and optimization of photos
  • Support administrative tasks and database maintenance

Requirements:

  • Proficiency with DSLR cameras and Canon equipment
  • Strong skills in Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop
  • Ability to operate cameras in manual mode and comfortable photographing live events
  • Excellent research, writing, and administrative abilities with keen attention to detail
  • Enrollment in or recent graduation from a degree program, or acceptance into an advanced degree program within the next year
