About the Commonwealth Foundation:

The Commonwealth Foundation is a vital intergovernmental organization committed to enhancing public dialogue and civil society participation across the Commonwealth. Our mission is to foster equal, just, and inclusive societies by supporting citizen engagement, nurturing civil societies, and advancing Commonwealth principles and ideals.

Internship Role:

Our Graduate Internship Programme provides recent graduates with hands-on experience across different facets of the Commonwealth Foundation. Interns will work closely with our teams for a six-month period, with the possibility of extension based on performance and organizational needs.

Successful candidates will be assigned to one of the following areas:

  • Commonwealth Civil Society
  • Creative Advocacy
  • Communications

Responsibilities will be tailored to each intern’s skills and interests, offering exposure to diverse projects and opportunities for professional growth.

Who We’re Looking For:

We welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds and strive to make our internship accessible to all. Candidates should possess strong research and administrative skills, with a keen interest in areas such as freedom of expression, climate justice, or health justice. Proficiency in technology, including Microsoft Office, is essential.

We seek individuals who are eager to learn, promote Commonwealth values, and contribute positively to our mission. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK for the internship’s duration.

What We Offer:

Interns will receive a monthly salary of £2,000 (£24,000 per annum) and 30 days of annual leave (pro-rata), inclusive of public holidays. Our flexible working policy requires presence in our central London office at least five days per fortnight, including every Wednesday.

We are committed to supporting interns in their career progression, offering guidance on future opportunities and assistance with CV refinement and interview preparation. While there’s no guarantee of a permanent role with the Foundation post-internship, we aim to equip interns for their next career move.
